Delightful modern pub with Irish tradition but a new age feel. The breading for their fried foods is exceptional. Not a lot of seating inside so tables and bar space fill up. Add a nip to your draft for $4. Good selection of tasty beers. French onion soup was good and was loaded with onion. Buffalo vegetables were also good but too much food for just two of us. The fried mushrooms were the best part. Great recommendations from the staff. Highly recommend

Been going to Gideon Welles since they opened. We go with my kids after baseball at Welles Park or go with friends to watch a game. Fun for city families while hanging out afternoons in the Square. We always have friendly staff and great regular bartenders. Usually an upbeat crowd, sometimes a bit raucous (good) and lots of neighbors pass through. Large outdoor patio too. I've had many different food items but often get the Buffalo wings... nothing fancy, classic recipe just quality and always on point.
I've been to this pub twice. I first went to this place in January, coinciding with the end of the holiday season. I returned there after work Friday afternoon as well. They also have big screen, HDTVs throughout the bar and they had baseball & The Masters when I was there. Had a delicious, mouth-watering Glastonbury Burger with bourbon BBQ sauce, an onion ring on top and fresh cut fries. It was really good...And I was hungry on top of it. They have really good food such as hand made chips & cheeseburger sliders that also hit the spot. Best of all, it's within walking distance of where my office relocated in December. I'll definitely be back again.
Great local pub to have a beer and visit with friends. There was plenty of places to sit and the staff were very friendly. We ordered their warm goat cheese spread as well as some of their awesome spicy chicken wings. They had a huge selection of beers on tap, as well as a great menu of specialty drinks and other foods. Five stars.
This is my favorite summer spot for a beer and a bite. Irish family owns it and some bartenders and servers have charming accents. It's right next to a baseball field so it's so pleasant to sit out there and take in the summer wholesomeness while sipping a Guinness or Radler or whatever. I miss living in walking distance to this spot. Love it.
We were going to sit inside but it was way too noisy! Entrees were delicious! Pulled pork sandwich is pictured! Service was spot on with the food runner! Met Ralph! He is an incredible professional gentleman!
Racist towards Hispanics!tried to force me to take out, ordered a drink sat down and ordered some food.

The server told me my food is ready and if I Want to to pay cash or card?
I’ve never had a place ask me to pay before I take a bite if my food.
Then brings my food out I’m a huge obnoxious to-go bag
But then I noticed im the only non- Irish there.
This spot stinks.
